In adium and ichat for mac, when I try to sign in it just bounces me on and off on and off on and off. Ive tried from a few different computers at a couple different locations with the same result. It doesn't give an error, it just continually bounces. I have other jabber accounts which work through gmail.

Tue, November 29, 2005 - 8:09 PMyeah....ditto for me....been like that since about mid september, there are some other reports in other threads on this tribe as well.
Interesting thing to note, when you do that 'ping pong' thing apparently it's visible to your friends who have managed to log in, thats how I originally found out what was going on, I had a friend who got me on another chat system and asked what was going on with my tribe log in, I just thought it was having trouble logging in.

Mon, January 9, 2006 - 11:59 AMAdium is currently working great for me... Make sure that your password is correct though, I have noticed in the past that if authentication fails with the settings you provide, it just keeps on trying. -

Mon, January 9, 2006 - 1:36 PMIt gets past authentication. But then immediately signs off. and then on, and off, and on, and off. No error messages. Same thing with ichat. Authentication problems pop up an error message. I don't think its a router issue either because I've tried to login on 3 different computers on as many different networks with 2 having the port fowrding set up to the machine i was working on. No luck. -

then, it recently started working again.
nothing changed with my system or settings that would relate to these issues.
so...no idea how to fix it....

it has just as mysteriously stopped working again.
Yesterday, I was logged in, and I noted that a friend of mine was doing the in/out/in/out/n/out/in/out/ thing.....so I logged myself out, to get away from the messages......and then later when I tried to log in, it started doing it to me!
I haven't been able to get back on since.
Shame that Tribe isn't offering any type of support of this feature right now, cause I'm sure it'd be golden for them to figure out what they just changed that made it start doing this.......
